The journey from Founder to Next Leader

I coach Startup Founders from idea to Leadership. I teach lean startup methodology and using a coaching approach, I help people find their own answers. Once people hire their first employee or engage a co-founder, they need leadership skills to make the team work.

The ideas of design and business that I learned professionally have recently propelled me to work with startup founders. The structure and problems encountered by any business are the same. The difference is only the size and number of people involved. I can apply my skills early in the life of a company and make a difference in the lives of people who want to innovate.

I have always been interested in professional development. I witnessed people in companies struggle to move out of a company role driven by their expertise to one driven by their relationships with people. I wanted to be a more professional mentor, and so I turned to the coaching community to elevate my skills. I chose Gallup® CliftonStrengths® based coaching because it has a long history of rigorous research, and it had a huge impact on how I understood myself in the world.

I will share what I learn from the people with whom I engage. I always learn more from the people I coach than they learn from me. I am sure the journey will take us where we need to be.

I have been a user of Business Model Canvas and Business Model You for many years. As I began to use Lean Canvas and understand the modifications made of the Business Model Canvas to get to the essence of a startup mindset, I decided to adapt Lean Canvas for use in leadership and individual coaching.

Lean Canvas YOU is in its beginnings. I am hopeful that people will use and contribute to the knowledge base for its use and growth. My vision is a book that anyone can pick up and make a change in their life and work. I would like to create a marketplace where contributors can get paid for the creativity.
